After a short car chase, the suspects attempted to flee on foot, but were quickly apprehended. One suspect resisted arrest, which earned him a dose of pepper spray to the face, according to Park Police Commander, Roy Michael..

Souza is a 20 year veteran of the Honolulu Police Department while Fajioka is a 13 year veteran patrol officer from Pearl City.

SHOPO president Tenari Maafala said the officers will likely be relieved of their duties pending an investigation.
